About Becky Birchett-Allen

Becky is a dedicated musician, educator, and fitness enthusiast with decades of experience in her fields. She began playing piano in 2nd grade, training classically with Beverly Taysom and Carolyn Riggins in Tempe, AZ. During high school, she earned superior ratings in competitions such as the NFSM (National Fraternity of Student Musicians) and the Arizona Interscholastic Association, along with awards for outstanding piano study and performance. As an adult, she continued her piano studies with Content Sablinsky and Dian Selheim.

Becky also began playing French Horn in 5th grade, studying under Larry Conrad during high school. She attended renowned fine arts programs, including Interlochen Arts Camp and Kendall Betts Horn Camp, where she worked with elite horn professionals like Kendall Betts and Barry Tuckwell. Her high school achievements include performing in two National Honor Bands: the John Phillip Sousa National Honors Band in Washington, D.C., and The National Wind Ensemble at Carnegie Hall.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Arizona State University, focusing on French Horn and music theory, studying with William Lane and John Ericson. She has performed professionally with the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra and Charlottesville Symphony Orchestra. Currently, she performs with The Charlottesville Band, directed the Cville Horn Ensemble, and freelances across Central Virginia.

Becky has been teaching piano and French Horn since 1998. In 2007, she founded Becky Allen’s Music Studio, offering private lessons to students of all ages and abilities. She expanded her impact in 2019 by creating the online course Successful Private Music Studio Strategies, helping educators establish and grow their studios.

Outside of music, Becky became a certified personal trainer and nutritionist through NASM. She is passionate about health and wellness, completing multiple races, including the Disney Princess Half Marathon while 29 weeks pregnant with her second child. Through her blog, Connect The Dots Ginger, she inspires others to achieve their fitness goals.
